GMT sheet belongs to thermoplastic composite materials, which ismainly composed of glass fiber and polypropylene (PP) material, andgenerated with the development of science and technology and theimprovement of the human environment consciousness. Compared with thetraditional thermosetting composite material, the short molding cycle, goodtoughness, low specific gravity and recyclable behavior have been known asgreen industrial materials in the21st century. The experimental materials and other manufacturers of mechanicalproperties and physical properties of GMT sheets are compared in this paper, and the experiment material are prepared by dry process productiontechnology, some key technologies in the production process are expounded(such as modification and content of polypropylene, mixing degree ofmatrix and fiber, air flow, etc.), at the same time, compared with othermanufacturer’s production craft manufacture process, by contrast, thesuperiority of this paper has been fully embodied; Secondly explain theinfluencing factors of the new GMT sheet through macro and micro aspects; Then model new GMT board’s embryo felt strengthening layer, with someassumptions, to simplify the model, based on the classical theory of elasticmechanics, the plane problem for solving plate, plate balance differentialequations of plane are determined, and uses the Navier method to get theanalytical solution of the problem; Finally, developing multi-layer’s modelof the new GMT sheet, and using the same method to solve the problem, soas to study the mechanics behaviors of GMT plate comprehensivly. This paper will enrich and develop composite materials and platetheory, supplys the theoretical basis for security assessment and optimumdesign, and is important to engineering applications.
