Research Of Serious Clothing Pattern Making Method About Garment Modeling

Pattern design is the concrete reflection of rational thinking in fashion design and is crucialto clothing modeling. The method of pattern making include plane cutting and draping cutting.In contrast of draping, flat drafting is efficient and low cost. But this method is difficult when wedesign unconventional, non-traditional and creative modeling. And If we haven’t experienced attailoring，it will be hard to obtain ideal garment pattern. Therefore, the main content of this thesisis to study the creative pattern design method of women garment modeling by analysis therelationship between three-dimensional modeling and flat form. And does serious expandingstyle design practice by this premise, reduce the difficulty of creative modeling design andserious style expanding by flat drafting, enhance the flexibility and innovative in plane drawing.This thesis combines plane cutting with drape cutting together to study the creative designof clothing modeling, analyzing flat pattern systematically, and summarize the regularity andmethod of pattern design finally. The clothing modeling demands stable and balancingappearance when wear the dress，so the pattern design technique is accomplished by basicpattern, such as cutting, unfolding, splicing, dislocating and alternating. The serious design ofclothing modeling lies in change for the forming factor, structure line and details of basic pattern.Change for the forming factor dividing the variational range of garment modeling, then thealtering of structure line and details deepening design in the same forming factor. The twomethod intersect and alternate reciprocally，and combine with the creative technique of patterndesign, is the process of serious clothing pattern design for women’s creative modeling.
