At present, the national standard GB/T16488-1996and "surface water environment quality standard" stipulated in GB3838-2002, measuring oil by infrared spectrophotometry is the first method, which requires the use of carbon tetrachloride as extractant. These waste tetrachloride and cumulated perennial are unable to recycle, and hence become a major problem in the environmental monitoring laboratory and other laboratories. Through the study of various harmless approaches on the basis of the reality of Oilfield Environmental Monitoring Laboratory, this thesis mainly focuses on how to recycle and reuse the carbon tetrachloride extractant after oil measure. The analysis revealed that the waste carbon tetrachloride in Oilfield Environmental Monitoring Laboratory mainly included carbon tetrachloride, petroleum, water and other impurities. The difference in physical and chemical properties among these components was investigated, taking aiming at achieving the separation, purification and further utilization of recycled carbon tetrachloride. By means of distillation, activated carbon adsorption, washing and distillation of concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid washing combination and activated carbon adsorption combined, a viable and reliable way to achieve the purpose aforementioned and turn waste into treasure was established. The purity and recovery yield of the recycling carbon tetrachloride were tested and calculated, respectively.
