The aluminum-based amorphous alloy which has high strength and excellent corrosion resistance has great application potential. But the glass forming ability of the alloy is lower,so it is a very important issue that exploring an alloy component of strong amorphous forming ability and good properties for Al based amorphous research. The thin ribbons was prepared through a single stick hanging quenching in this research.X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, nano-indentation, electrochemical test were investigated. Alloy glass forming ability and the mechanical properties was researched by means of different elements adding to Al-based.Corrosion resistance of alloy were investigated in different content, different cooling speeds and different heat treatment process.The main research contents are as follows:1.It can effectively reduce α-Al, Al3Ni, AlNi and AlZr3crystalline phase and improves the glass-forming ability and microhardness HV and the elastic modulus E after Ce instead of Zr in the alloy system of Al84Ni10Zr6-xCex(x=0~6). The Al84Ni10Zr6alloy has completely crystalline structure whose microhardness HV and the elastic modulus E is lower.With Ce content increasing in the Al84Ni10Zr6-xCex (x=1~5), crystalline phase content reduces and alloy microhardness and the elastic modulus increases.When Zr completely replaced by Ce, Al84Ni10Ce6alloy that has a fully amorphous structure has maximum microhardness and the elastic modulus,respectively4.297GPa and94.990GPa.2.The test found little Co(≤2at.%) content added to Al84Ni10Ce6alloy can suppress the formation of the crystalline phase and improve glass forming ability; Zr replacing Ni in Al84Ni10Ce6alloy reduces glass forming ability of the alloy.Though nano-indentation experiments for Al84Ni10-xCO(6-x)Cex (x=0~10at.%)alloy ribbons at wheel speed of10m/s,it is found that the Al84Ni8Co2Ce6alloy of best glass forming ability whose HV and E are the maximum,respectively3.23GPa and54.45GPa.3.Electrochemical tests of Al84Ni10Zr(6-X)Cex (x=0,2,4,6at.%) alloy are found to Al84Ni10Zr2Ce4alloy with a little crystalline phase has best corrosion properties,completely amorphous Al84Ni10Ce6alloy following, The corrosion resistance of Al84Ni10Zr6alloy with fully crystalline phase is worst.The Al84Ni10Zr2Ce4alloy at wheel speed of40m/s and30m/s have the best corrosion resistance.The Al84Ni10Zr2Ce4amorphous alloy below Tg annealing has the best corrosion resistance.The alloy after annealing between Tg and Tx the corrosion resistance of the alloy increases slightly as compared to the untreated alloy.
