The purpose of this thesis is to research the utilization of polishing ceramic tilewaste in the preparation of dense ceramics. The quantitative analysis was performedto study the control technology of foaming in sintering of polishing ceramic tile wasteand its application. Polishing ceramic tile waste contains a small amount of siliconcarbide (SiC) and magnesium oxychloride cement. This paper mainly studies thecontrol technology of foaming in sintering of SiC and its application. This paper researched several commonly used fluxes (Na2CO3, CaO, K2CO3,MgO) on the effect of foaming in sintering of SiC in ceramics, and also discussedseveral materials which could restrain the effect of pore’s growing in ceramics. Theexperimental results showed that: when holding time was1h, the minimum oxidationtemperature of SiC was400-450℃, which verified the oxidation of SiC must alsomeet the requirement of thermodynamics and kinetics. Different fluxes have differenteffect on the foaming in sintering of SiC in ceramics. When the SiC content was lessthan0.6%, the effect on foaming in sintering of SiC in ceramics wasK2CO3>Na2CO3>CaO>MgO. When the SiC content was more than0.9%, the effecton foaming in sintering of SiC in ceramics was not changed much except for MgO.Al2O3could restrain the effect of pore’s growing in ceramics and improve the sintereddensity of ceramics. In addition, particle size of quartz also has some effect onoxidation behavior of SiC in ceramics. The more fine the quartz particle is, the morewell-distributed of pores are and the smaller size of pores are. Both of these two wayscould restrain the effect of pore’s growing in ceramics. The utilization of the polishing tile waste was explored to prepare dense ceramicsfrom silica sand, ball clay, the polishing tile waste and potash feldspar as main rawmaterials. The basic formulation for preparation of the dense ceramic material wasdetermined through a large number of exploratory experiments as follows: silica sand30%, potash feldspar35%, ball clay20%, the polishing tile waste10%. On this basis, effects of the raw material formula on the ceramics’ sintered density were discussed respectively. After the final exploratory experiments, it’s obtained that the utilizationof the polishing ceramic tile waste was24%and the basic properties of preparedceramic as follows: water absorption0.21%, bulk density2.27g/cm3.In this thesis, the research about control technology of foaming in sintering ofSiC and its application was examined innovatively. It is believed that this work willhave a significant contribution to recycle a large amount of polishing ceramic tilewaste in our country, and also it will provide a theoretical support and scientific basisfor resource recycling of polishing ceramic tile waste. This will have a vital practicalsignificance.
