With the improvement of our living standard, packaging of products gets more and more attention. The package which is scientific, beautiful, neat and airtight, can both effectively protect the product andstrengthen their competitiveness. So to some textile products which are closely related with our life, such as underwear, socks, towel and scarves, a tidy and beautiful packaging is more needed.Instead of the low efficiency, poor quality manual packaging, the packaging machinery industry is more and more popular, which is automatic, high-efficiency and low-cost.The core of the control system of tights-packaging-machine is Omron PLC. It completes the operation cycle of the electrical machine’s integration by driving electro-pneumatic control actuator. In this paper based on the developed tights packaging machine, we analyze the overall performance, design a new run program to the system and optimize the control system. The main work is as follows.1. Learn about the working process and requirement about the pantyhose packing machine, summarize the action sequence and analyze the performance of its control system and key hardware facilities. Its disadvantage is described in the view of its function. And the optimization design plan about the specific control system is raised up.2. According to its working principle and control requirement, the possibility about applying the technology of multi-site in parallel to the control system is studied. The program designing requirement of PLC is determined. Based on the parallel control program, we conducted CX-Programmer software programming, and analyze the merits of the program and make improvements.3. We propose a fault detection system for the pantyhose packing machine. The principle of the method is that the system collects the sensor signal of key parts, such as conveyor belt, motor, flip folding mechanism, folding shovel, shovel to seal bags, bagging shovel and so on, by using programmable controller PLC. Then the host computer conducts the fault diagnosis and signal display basing on the fault-tree principle.4. Based on the measuring temperature range of sealing cutter, we analyze the heat-sealing cutter model and establish a transfer function model. We select the pattern of single-chip devices, resistors, sensors, develop a closed-loop control system basing on fuzzy PID control algorithm, and get reasonable PID parameters in MATLAB.Currently, the control system of tights packaging machine has been optimization designed completely and it run well. It can realize an effective function of the tights packaging system, and continuously produced qualified tights. The system is stable and reliable.
