The torpedo tanker is the dedicated hot metal transport vehicles which is used for transporting iron to the steel cans tipping station of iron and steel enterprise, and it has replaced the traditional hot metal car. It can complete the process of dephosphorization and desulfurization on way of transportion, thereby reducing smelting time and the cost of smelting. So it is a highly efficient and advanced equipment of the smelting process.The tilting mechanism of the torpedo tanker is one of the key equipments which are used for converter iron production in ironmaking process.The working characteristics of the tilting mechanism are bigger reduction ratio and pour moment,with more frequently starting and braking and it can bear stronger dynamic load.Compared to old-fashioned hot metal car,the tilting mechanism makes the function stronger and makes it more convenient for dumping of hot metal.This has a great deal of improving the efficiency of metallurgy jobs.So the tilting mechanism is very vital to the torpedo tanker. The torpedo tanker tilting mechanism with is a full-suspension design of the four-point engagement of the new gear, and an increase from the buffer and steady role torsion bar, thus tipping the tank total reliable and smooth torque input tank trunnion driven the tank rotation of the molten iron is poured out.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) This article using SolidWorks software to complete the mixed iron car the tilting mechanism various parts of the three-dimensional modeling and assembly, create a virtual bodies.(2) This article using ANSYS is calculated torpedo car dump Moment to to pour Moment its curve.320T Torpedo Car tilting torque maximum at52°, the maximum synthesis dumping Moment value346.4KN m.(3) Using ANSYS Workbench platform do the contact stress and the bending stress of pinion gear process analysis, get the maximum contact stress, bending stress of the pinion gear tooth root of the maximum equivalent are within the allowable range value.(4) Using ANSYS Workbench platform the maximum stress finite element analysis of the torsion bar, to understanding of the deformation of the torsion bar and the stress,and get the maximum stress of the torsion bar, the maximum displacement, the maximum shear stress is within the allowable range values.This paper analyzes the results will torpedo car tilting institutions use, maintenance and longevity of the equipment provided strong theoretical support and theoretical evidence.
