Total Synthesis Of Salvia Natural Products

The thesis aims at the studies on the total synthesis of the novel neoclerodane diterpenes salvileucalins C and D, puberulin, dugesin B, and isopuberulin. It mainly consists of the following two parts:In the first part, we will introduce the isolations, biological activities and possible biogenetic correlations of salvileucalins C, D, puberulin, dugesin B, isopuberulin and other related natural products.In the second part, we will report our efforts on the total synthesis of salvileucalins C, D puberulin, dugesin B, and isopuberulinPuberulin and dugesin B were accessed through radical cyclization, ring expansion and photo-catalyzed deselenation and electrocyclic reaction in13steps.The total synthesis of salvileucalins C and D were completed by using base-induced ring-opening of mono-bromo cyclopropane and electrocyclic ring contraction as key steps.Our chemical synthesis of salvileucalins C and D should provide sufficient materials for their further biological screening.
