CTP (Computer-to-plate) device is the principal way applied to Prepress technology along with digital grade advance. It improves print quality, reduce manufacture time and cost labour force.Drum is the key part to assure image quality at CTP device. Alignment of drum structure and manufacture will cause imbalance at the high speed. The issue of imbalance will affect on dynamic behaviors. E.g. spots of exposure laser can’t focus on plate, it will bring some questions. Such as ghost image, dot gain, ink unevenness problem etc. By means of matrix of transfer from rotor dynamics. The quality and speed of plate imaged can be improved. The drum dynamics model is present and used to analyze vibration status and to calculate critical speed and natural frequency. Compare with drum and drum assembly bearing itself mode diversity avoid producing resonance. Numerical simulation of CTP imaging drum based on Ansys software. It will provide information for design optimization. Extract signal of drum vibration at maximal speed by dynamic balance instrument. Make use of wavelet theory and Fourier transform to find counterbalance position by Matlab in order to reduce adjust times for dynamic balance. It can provide reference to software development at the same time.As mentioned above, drum vibration will affect plate image quality and speed, accelerate bearing wear out and reduce CTP device life because centrifugal force. Therefore, it is important to analyze drum dynamics at real working condition.
