With the advantages of safety, high efficiency and low mining cost, sublevel caving method has been applied widely since it was imported from Sweden in1960s. And drawing under the condition of the loose cover is the characteristic of this mining method. But its loss and dilution is large which must be its most disadvantages. In order to improve this method, the domestic and foreign experts and scholars has made a lot of research work. And the focus is mainly on studying the flow characteristics of caving ore-bearing and movement regularity which can help to optimize the mining process and maximize the benefit of mine production. And they have made some precious achievements. The most representative achievements are as follows:The stochastic medium theory of ore-drawing; Ellipsoid drawing theory; Physical simulation experiment and computer numerical simulation, etc. Now the core content of studying sublevel caving method mainly includes the following two aspects:drawing control and optimizing the stope structure parameters.Based on "Low dilution and loss drawing study of the sublevel caving method in2#iron mine of Maanshan of Honghe Mining", this paper analyzed geological conditions of the ore body, and found characters of this mine:surrounding rock is steady and intercalated layers of the ore are many. According to the preliminary design of the mine, it will use the vertical approach to decorate the bottomless pillar sublevel caving mining method in the solid ore which is more than20m.Through studying the selected mining method, the characteristics of the ore body’s condition and the similar mine, this paper assumed that it would cause much loss and dilution if it selects the sublevel caving method. To prevent this problem is the core content of this paper. This paper mainly studies two core contents of the method. Firstly it established the ellipsoid drawing theory as the theoretical basis of this paper after analyzing and studying many theories of drawing. Secondly, with the Monomer drawing test, it obtained the parameters of the draw body in various kinds of geological conditions. Thirdly, according to the large gap stope structure theory, it optimized structure parameters of the stope. Fourthly, with the optimized structure parameters, it did a three-dimensional simulation experiment:studying the ore recovery rate of four kinds of different dilution ratio, obtaining the corresponding relationship between loss of dilution, and studying the feasibility of low-dilution drawing in this mine. At last, taking the reality of mine and the principle of maximum total revenue into account, it determined the reasonable ore grade and reasonable loss and dilution rate with economic analysis.The research results of this paper not only can bring huge economic benefits for maanshan iron mine, but also can provide a certain practical reference for the optimization of the similar mining process.
