The roughness affects the performance and service life of parts. Be able tocontrol and improve the roughness have great significance for the parts andmachine. The articles explain the working principle of the measurement andevaluation of roughness parameters. This paper analyzes the development trendsof present situation of the roughness measurements. A new measurement systemsolution was proposed based on existing measurement systems. The system usedthe ARM architecture processors as a measurement system processor. Theprinciples and design of the sensing signal modulation and demodulation circuitfor the operation of the sensor was described at first. Then,designed the analogsignal processing module. Include second-order low-pass analog filter. The noisefrequencie above250Hz was filtered out. Designed the twice amplifier circuits toenlarge the signal amplification to-5V~5V. The amplified signal was transmittedto the A/D converter module. The amplified signal was transferred to A/Dacquisition module for analog to digital change. Paper discussed thecharacteristic parameters and implementation methods of Gaussian filter. Papermade a presentation for limit theorem, and the establishment of a central filteringmidline. Extraction of the roughness curve describes the principle of the filter.After obtaining a valid digital signal filtering parameters can be calculated viathe roughness parameter values required, and finally displayed the resultsthrough LCD.Measuring instrument used ARM9processor as hardware platform.Developed and deployed the driver for each hardware module, written appliedcode to calculate the parameters, designed the applicable root file system for themeasuring system, so that can compress the system maximize, and cut the kernelfile, eventually compile portable image file Image. The system guide program has been redesigned. Developed the U-boot as the system boot process for theroughness measurement system, based on the generic version. The boot loadercan start the Linux system quickly, improve the startup speed. Final, the paperanalyzes the sources of errors, and the method to eliminate those errors.
