Based on landfill leachate leakage caused serious groundwater contamination and pollutionof complex composition, at high concentrations, refractory and other problem. Permeablereactive barrier technology repair leachate contamination of groundwater by the comparativestudy. And the PRB technology research core content and hotspot issues is highly efficient,low-cot, environmentally friendly active material.According to previous research, the test selects four materials to treat the simulationgroundwater polluted landfill leachate that contain COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+. The four materialsare scrap iron, fly ash, zeolite and steel slag. The study by static test, comparison scrap iron, flyash, zeolite and steel slag treat groundwater pollution which is efficiency and feasibility. Thehigher ratio removal of steel slag and zeolite are selected as active material of PRB.Determination the optimum conditions of steel slag and zeolite materials treat groundwaterpollution using single factor and orthogonal teats. By means dynamic column and flask testprove efficiency and optimum reaction conditions that steel slag, zeolite and mixture of steel slagand zeolite removal COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+in the groundwater pollution. Major researchresults as follows:Static test of four materials show that poor effect of scrap iron removal COD, NH4-N, Mn2+,Fe2+, corresponding removal rate is respectively24.7%,12.4%,32.6%,41.3%. Common effectof fly ash removal COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+, corresponding removal rate is respectively36.4%,24.4%,33.6%,72.3%. The better effect of steel slag removal COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+,corresponding removal rate is respectively59.2%,24.1%,99.2%,99.7%.The better effect ofzeolite removal COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+, corresponding removal rate is respectively36.8%,98.2%,85.3%,99.4%.Single factor and orthogonal tests of steel slag show that various influencing factorsarranged by the orders from major to minor is particle size of steel slag>amount of steelslag>oscillation frequency>reaction time, The optimal treatment condition is that particle size ofsteel slag is3050mesh (0.30.6mm), amount of steel slag is5g/100mL, oscillation frequency is150r/min and reaction time is2hours. Under these conditions, removal rate of COD, NH4-N,Mn2+, Fe2+is respectively52.3%,22.4%,99.3%,99.2%. Single factor and orthogonal tests ofzeolite show that various influencing factors arranged by the orders from major to minor is amount of zeolite> particle size of zeolite>oscillation frequency>reaction time, The optimaltreatment condition is that particle size of zeolite is3080mesh (0.180.6mm), amount ofzeolite is5g/100mL, oscillation frequency is150r/min and reaction time is1hours. Under theseconditions, removal rate of COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+is respectively25.6%,80.7%,75.4%,95.7%. Single factor tests of mixture of steel slag and zeolite show that the mass ratio of steelslag to zeolite is1:1, amount is10g/100mL, reaction time is2hours and oscillation frequency is150r/min. Under these conditions, removal rate of COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+is respectively59.8%,96.7%,93.1%,99.8%.Dynamic column verify that the better of effect of steel slag removal COD, Mn2+, Fe2+. Thebetter of effect of zeolite removal NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+. The better of effect steel slag and zeoliteremoval COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+, removal rate is respectively61.2%,96.3%,97.4%,99.8%.Flask test further verified that no effect of steel slag treat NH4-N. Because of microorganismsexisting, the maximal removal efficiency of COD, NH4-N, Mn2+, Fe2+can be reached usingzeolite, removal rate is respectively78.6%、96.38%、97.46%、99.69%. significant role of steelslag and zeolite treat COD、NH4-N、Mn2+、Fe2+by physical and chemical reactions, removal rateis respectively83.6%、95.8%、98.6%、99.7%, removal effect is best one of three.So steel slag and zeolite as composite active material is effective feasible and cheap torepair groundwater polluted landfill leachate.
