Porphyrin compounds are a kind of conjugated macrocyclic compounds with special structure and unique properties, which have been arousing increasing interest in the past few decades due to their unique properties such as chemical stability, thermal resistance, synthetic versatility and biocompatibility. The optical performance of porphyrin compounds is the most interesting property, which can be tailored by modifying their molecular structure. However, self-aggregation phenomenon of small molecule porphyrin seriously influenced their optical properties. Polyamide has a series of superior properties, such as good mechanical and thermal properties, excellent resistance to chemical solvent and good electric performance, etc.Porphyrin molecules were introduced into the molecular structure of polyimide, porphyrin functionalized polyimide can not only prevent from self-aggregation, keep optical properties of porphyrin compounds but also utilized the properties of polyimide film.In this dissertation, using3,3’,4,4’-biphenyl tetracarboxylic diandhydride as diandhydride monomer,1,4-bis(4-aminophenoxy)benzene and tetra-amide metalloporphyrin as diamine monomer, a series of porphyrin functionalized polyimide films were prepared by polycondensation of diandhydride and diamine. The performances of the polyimide films with different content of porphyrin containing the same metalloporphyrin were compared. The molecular structures of the prepared polyimide film polymers were identified by fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. The glass transition temperature of the polyimide samples was between200and300C by differential scanning calorimetry measurement. By Z-scan and optical limiting measurement, nonlinear optical properties and optical limiting characteristics of the metalloporphyrin functionalized polyimide film samples were analyzed.
