The success of casing window is important for the coiled tubing radial jet. How ever, there’re some defects of the current opening window tools, such as the strength of the tool, the long time of opening and limited slope of the whipstock. In view o f these, opening window tools are optimized. The structure of the universal joint is o ptimized and ANSYS is used to simulate and analyze the forces; the transmission ch aracteristics of the universal joint through simulating by the software of MATLAB, b asing on that the universal joints of different angles are arranged reasonably. The ne w whipstock is designed that can realize the direction changing from vertical to horiz ontal. Opening a hole, reaming and deburring can be finished by the special sidetra cking bit once a time. And failure types of bit are analyzed to avoid accidents. Casi ng window tools were assembled and then the experiment of opening window was c arried out. The results show that casing window in the horizontal direction is finish ed in10minutes and the shape of the hole is a regular circle. It’s prepared for the next step that injection system goes through the casing.
