Extensible belt conveyor is a continuous convey with the highest efficiency andthe most commonly used. It is a main equipment of roadway drayage transport andmining working surface transport. In the event of failure will cause direct economicloss, serious safety accidents in coal mine, even can cause personal injury.The fault diagnosis expert system based on fault tree for belt conveyor can assistuser to judge the fault indication and running conditions in time. If the failurehappened, it helps operator take the corresponding fault processing method toterminate the fault. In this paper, by means of programming language Visual C++interface programming, SQL Server2008database software to carry on the knowledgestorage to complete the design of fault diagnosis expert system.Taking DSJ100/80/2×110extensible belt conveyor as the research object, using acombination of fault tree analysis and expert system fault analysis for fault analysis onbelt conveyor. The thesis mainly includes the following contents:Firstly, the conveyor fault diagnosis research statuses at home and abroad areintroduced. Choosing the expert system based on fault tree to research fault diagnosisfor conveyor.Secondly, the paper introduces the conveyor the basic concept of fault treeanalysis and expert system, and establishes the fault tree model of belt conveyor. Itcombines the theory of fault tree and expert system for fault diagnosis of conveyor.Finally, the paper designs and develops the fault diagnosis expert conveyorsystem based on fault tree. The system includes three modules: basic parameters ofconveyor module, fault diagnosis module and knowledge base management module.The expert system can processing of conveyor the diagnosis and presents the faultprocessing opinion timely. Using and learning can strengthen the expert systemfunction and make conveyor running more reliability and safety.
