The flexible powdered alloy sheet coating technology is worthy of extensive popularizationand application due to its materials saving, controllable performance and thickness, simpleprocess control, and excellent combination with steel substrate.In this paper, the flexible powdered alloy sheet coating on45#steel was synthesized viaspreading method and hot pressed sintering. Effect of WC content, alloys matrix compositionand rare earth addition on the microstructure and properties of the sintered layer were alsoinvestigated.Effect of WC content on microstructure and properties of WC/EDX602sintered layer wasstudied in the present work. And the optimal WC content was obtained by testing resistance toabrasion of the sintered layer. Then, WC/(Cu-Ni) and WC/EDXNi105sintered layers wereprepared by adding Cu-Ni powders and EDXNi105alloy powders, respectively. Also, theoptimal components of matrix material were found out by abrasion resistance comparison amongthese sintered layers. Finally, abrasion resistance of sintered layer was further improved by theaddition of La2O3.Influences of the chemical composition and microstructure on mechanical properties suchas porosity, hardness, abrasion had been investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and metallographic microscopy. The results showed that sintered layer with the composition of50wt%WC and50wt%EDX602alloy powders had excellent wear resistance. Its wearresistance is6.1times of the Cr12MoV wear-resistant steel with hardness HRC63.3. Afteradding1.0wt%La2O3, its wear resistance increased by60%, and was9.76times of theCr12MoV wear-resistant steel.
