The Abrasive Belt grinding technology is a new plastics processes,it is charactered by ahigh machining eiffciency,wide range of applicaiton,adaptable,low cost,safe and convenientoperaiton,etc.It has been widely applied in industry.In the abrasive belt grindingmachining,the selection of performance parameters have a major impact on surface qualityand machining precision of workpieces.the process of abrasive belt grinding is complexwhich is determined by multivariable optimization,the impact of factors are the acting forcebelt apply on the workpiece,heat dissipation,microcrack,residual stresses,vibrations,etc.In thecomplex process of grinding machining,if we can gather the dynamic real-time data andinformation of the grinding parameters,the information will be conducive to the study aboutchanging regularity of the abrasive belt grinding,to recognize and identify the Grindingperformances of belt,to predict the system technological’s impaction on grinding quality,sothat we can predict the grinding result, optimize process parameters (grinding speed,forwardfeed,etc),ensure that the precision satisfied the processing requirements.The Abrasive Belt is tremendous used,there are plenty of kinds and brands belts,but howto evaluate the Grinding performances of belt,which is betetr,currently in this industry,wedepend mostly on the experts’ subjective appraisements and experiences.there is no uniformevaluation standard for belt,nor one professional instrumentation to inspect it,such a situationis a serious constraint to belt’s produciton,seleciton and application.This article mainly recommend nowadays’ evaluation indicator and the affectingfactors,based on collecting the material or information about evaluating the Grindingperformances of belt,meanwhile,compared the merits and demerits of the all kinds of theabrasive belt test equipment,moreover,brielfy introduced their basic operating principle.Absorbing and beneifting from the basis of the existing grinding testing machine,wedesign one equipment which enable real-time detection the grinding force,grindingtemperature and metal removal rate,due to limited devices and time,we did not ifnish the workof manufacturing the testing machine,but according to Measuring principle of grindingforce,grinding temperature and metal removal rate,we did some operation which veriifed thetechnical feasibility of Abrasive Belt Grinding performance testing machine. All over the process,Our main research contents and productions are listed as follows:①Throughanalyzed the mechanism of abrasive belt grinding,we proposed its propertyindexes and affecting factors,and described the principle that how to detect them.②Devisedone overall project of test equipment about abrasive belt grinding,which canachieve the objective that enables real-time detection the dynamic indicator Grinding force,Grinding temperature and the rate of stuff removal.③Based on the virtual instrument software LabV IEW? designed one detecting systemwhich has the feature collecting the data of the dynamic indicator,signal processing,dataplayback testing result analysis.④Bymaking full use of existing resources and conditions,we did some operations andrepeated them,prove tentatively that this system has good practical results,and providetheoretical base for the design and manufacturing about the abrasive belt grinding testmachine later.
