LED-induced fluorescence detector is a novel fluorescence detector (FD), with small size, less power consumption, long perfomance life, low cost, excellent selectivity and high sensitivity. It was widely used in many fields, such as environment, biological science, drug analysis and food science. In this paper, a novel LED-induced fluorescence detector (EID230) was disigned with the principle of confocal optical configuration and a high power365nm LED was used as the excitation light source. Then, an effective analysis system with HPLC was established.Based on no acceptable evaluation standard and evaluation method of LED-induced fluorescence detector, a suitable test method was chosen and used to evaluate the novel EID230in this paper. Fluorescent brightener OB was chosen as performance evaluation sample by evaluating its related parameters. Then, the performance of noise, draft, sensitivity, limit of detection, linear rage and precision of EID230were tested by the chosen method. The results suggested that fluorescent brightener OB’s maximum excitation and emission wavelength were respectively375nm and431nm, with high fluorescence quantum yield and excellent stability. The EID230could detect the concentration of fluorescent brightener OB in3.0x10-12g/mL (S/N=3), and had characteristics including high sensitivity, wide linear range (3orders of magnitude), and nice precision.Based on the above experiments, a HPLC-LED IF system was established and was successfully used in the analysis of the aflatoxin M1. These results showed that the detection limit of aflatoxin M1was2.0><10-10g/mL, the linear relationship was well at contents of8.0x10-10g/mL-3.2x1O-8g/mL and the detection method had good stability.
