It is a serious problem that the dust pollution on shearer coal face, a great quantityof dusts could not only pose threat to the health of workers seriously but also pose acrucible to the safety production seriously in the underground coal mine. One of theawaiting solution is how to improve the performance of spray system and theenvironment of the coal face.This paper analyses the main factors of influencing spray effect based on themechanism of Spraying Dust Removal. The model of shearer coal face is established bythe union of Pro/Engineer and GAMBIT through the measured data from a certainshearer. The numerical simulation of shearer external spray situation is established bythe fluid dynamical simulation software FLUENT. Get the law of the influence about theeffect of parameter variation to spray. At the same time, for improving the efficiency ofreducing dust of shearer spray system, build the model of internal flow field of actualshearer nozzle. Get the conclusion that the effective method to improve atomizationeffect is to improve spray pressure by simulation. Comparing with situations of1.0mm,1.2mm,1.5mm,2.0mm, when the nozzle caliber is1.5mm and swirl core central holediameter is1.2mm, the nozzle has the best atomization effect.Using the method of numerical simulation, this paper shows the effect of externalspray and the variation of fluid in nozzle internal by different spray parameters. It isconvenience to adjust spray parameters and nozzle structure to improve the efficiency ofreducing dust of shearer spray system. It has a certain reference value for theoptimization design of shearer spray system.
