Two sides and roof of extra-thick and soft coal seam tunnel is the weak part ofsurrounding rock bearing structure, after the tunnel excavation in a relatively shortperiod of time, namely happen damaged and loss of supporting capacity, and two sidesonce failure the instability, it will harmful to the stability of the roof and floor. So,surrounding rock stability control of extra-thick and soft coal seam tunnel is the key toeffective control of the soft coal side, and should be taking effective measures topreventing massive deformation after excavation in time, so that the tunnel ismaintained in a stable state. This paper with extra-thick and soft coal seam problem ofWangPing coal group mine8#coal seam402panel5204tunnel, design the anchormesh and cable+anchor note+special area enclosed metal stents combinationsupporting scheme. By using of FLAC3Dto simulation in different supporting form anddifferent excavation supporting loop, surrounding rock stress and displacementdistribution and the plastic zone size, etc, and analysis the feasibility of supportingscheme. Finally in tunnel of5204in the industrial test, and through field monitoringshowing that adopt new ways of supporting, the deformation of tunnel has been quite abit of control, supporting effect is remarkable, and it shows that this kind of supportingis justified.
