Ionic Polymer-Metal Composites (IPMC) is a type of electro-deformation smart material, which is based of high molecular polymer Nafion membrane. The performance of IPMC is similar to biologic muscle. Such kind of material has great application prospect in military, aerospace, biomedical and other fields, and attracts more and more attention of researchers.This paper presents a kind of noval nondestructive precise determination method of IPMC Young’s modulus based on cantilever resonance theory to solve some problems in tra-ditional methods. The researcher obtains the Young’s modulus by this method and the result proves the method based on cantilever resonance theory is an effective nondestructive precise determination method to IPMC smart material.Output characteristic of Multi-layered IPMC is deduced based on IPMC RC model theory. A double-layered IPMCs strip like a sandwich is prepared and its characteristics are tested and compared with single IPMC composed of double-layered IPMCs.The functional structures of valveless pump, diffuser and nozzle, are analyzed in theory and simulated by ANSYS/Flotran. The best diffuser/nozzle degree is obtained from the simu-lation result. A micro pump system based on IPMC smart material is developed by researchers using laser manufacturing technology and PDMS preparing technology. The pumping prop-erty of the micro pump is obtained by researchers.Finally, this paper researches the vibration property of IPMC for its application in micro strring system. The first two order natural frequencies are got in the use of Chirp signal sweeping frequency method. To lay a foundation for the development of micro strring system, researcher determins the strring property of IPMC under different modals using solution de-coloration method.
