| There are a series of excellent properties on glass fiber, such as easy to get the raw materials, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties. Therefore, it is commonly used as reinforced materials with excellent performance. Glass fiber reinforced composite is a kind of widely used materials which has the characteristic of low cost and good formability and insulation. It is playing an important role in the national economic life and widely used in aerospace, ship, automobile, electrician and civil fields.At present, the main color of glass fiber in our country is silver and its composite products are colorless and transparent. So we should research and develop the glass fiber with different colors to meet the needs of customers and broaden the application scale. According to the structural features of glass fiber, its preparation process and application environment, the topic select ferric chloride and carbon black as the coloring material. At last the coloring process was explored on the method of dip dyeing and sizing agent online coating.Glass fibers were colored by dipping with the ferric chloride solution. The samples were characterized by UV-visible spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and Field emission scanning electron microscope. The results showed that the dye liquor Fe3+combined with the sizing on the surface of glass fiber to form y-FeOOH, so it can achieve the purpose of coloring. Then the optimal technology condition of dip dyeing with the ferric chloride solution was determined, the process temperature of dyeing is80℃and the best dyeing time is2.5h, and what’s more the mass percent concentration of ferric chloride is2.5%in the dye liquor. The samples have a good wash fastness and heat fastness, and it can meet the requirements for the preparation of composite materials.Using the sizing agent contains ferric chloride, then the fiber was colored by the online coating method during the preparation of glass fiber. The samples were characterized by Nano-particle size and potential analyzer, UV-visible spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Field emission scanning electron microscope and Strength tester. The results showed that ferric chloride exists in the sizing agent as iron state and the emulsion has good stability, so it can be used as sizing agents in the production of continuous glass fibers. This method can make the fiber be colored. The mass percent concentration of ferric chloride is2.5%in the sizing agent. At the same time, the strength of the sample decreased by about10%-25%. The samples have a poor wash fastness property and its heat fastness is good. It would not diffusion when contacted with the resin.Carbon black is selected as coloring material. The article adopts the mechanical grinding process to prepare the water dispersion system to dye the glass cloth. The samples were characterized by Nano-particle size and potential analyzer, UV-visible spectrophotometer and Field emission scanning electron microscope. The results showed that the particle size distribution is relatively concentrated when it treated with72hours and its average particle diameter size is about500nm. The fiber cloth will get the best coloring effect at this time. The mass percent concentration of carbon black is0.8%. The sample has a good wash fastness and heat fastness property. It would not diffusion when it contact with the resin. |
