Biotrickling filtration has some features such as easy control,low cost,nosecondary pollution, treatment of large concentration odor and high treatmentefficiency,bear a large pollution load, will help to flush out metabolites,etc; Thebiotrickling filter to treat sour smell of gas has the best effect, wide application. Along-term laboratory volatile sulfur odor deodorization experiment using biologicaltrickling filter tower of a attapulgite base iron oxide porous ceramsite as padding. Onthe treatment of hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan are studied respectively; Exploresome content that device startup process, influence of operating process parametersand operation condition optimization, biotrickling filter system operatingcharacteristics,etc. The main results are as follows:1、The optimum operation conditions of trickling biofilter in degradation of H2Sin this experiment: the inlet concentration below500mg/m3,nutrient solution spraydensity is higher than0.24m3/(m2·h),optimum gas retention time is54.9s and Nvisless than60g/(m3·h);the best treatment efficiency of H2S and the removal rate isgreater than94%. Degradation of ethanethiol optimum operating conditions: the inletconcentration is less than250mg/m3, nutrient solution spray density is0.24m3/(m2·h),gas residence time of68.7s;that can achieve the best effect of ethyl mercaptan, andthe removal efficiency is more than64%.2、In continuous operation, biotrickling filter system has a strong and stable theability to remove H2S and ethyl mercaptan. Metabolites of H2S and ethyl mercaptan intower are mostly based on SO42-. With the running time increases,the increase of SO42-concentration, the decrease of pH value,but the decrease of pH value and increase ofSO42-content has no significant effect on the ability of microbial degradation of H2Sand ethyl mercaptan.3、The degradation process of H2S and ethyl mercaptan by biotrickling filter canaccord with the Michaelis-Menien model.The kinetic parameters of H2S degradationis Ks=5.38mg/m3,Vm=344.83g/(m3·h) and the kinetic parameters of ethyl mercaptandegradation is Ks′=7.96mg/m3,Vm′=221.73g/(m3·h).4、Iron oxide porous ceramsite (IPC) with chemical and biological inertia andsurface roughness, that is conducive to microbial attachment and growth. Biologicalobservation shows that surface of trickling filter tower packing attached to a large number of microorganisms. In the experimental operation period, device has not beenbackwashing, no generated by microbial metabolites resulting in clogging signs.Thebiotrickling filter can be stable and effective operation.
