With the development of the society and the improvement of the economy,environmental issues have been got more and more attention. Developedwoodceramics not only can reduce the burden on the environment, but also developenvironmentally friendly materials, it is of great significance to recycle the resourcesand protect the environment.In this work, new woodceramics were prepared by compositing, pressing andsintering processes, using wheat straw as raw materials, little amount of epoxy resinas adhesive, through adding different ratios of attapulgite and goethite in order toimprove the mechanical properties and magnetic properties of the composites. Themodels were sintered under different temperature(600、700、800、900、1000℃) anda nitrogen atmosphere, then at the same time achieved biomass carbon, attapulgiteclay activation and goethite deoxidation, so as to acquire attapulgite and goethitemodified woodceramics. After thermal gravimetric analysis of the compositematerials, such as the bending strength, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity, porosity,bulk density, specific surface area were also tested on the composites. The effects ofdifferent ratios of raw materials and sintering temperature on the phase andmicrostructure of composite materials were analyzed by XRD and SEM. The resultsshowed that new woodceramics is a kind of amorphous and porous carbon material.Different quality ratios have influence on the phase of new woodceramics, butdifferent sintering temperatures show great influence on the microstructure. Thebending strength is improved by adding attapulgite, adding goethite made thecomposites magnetic, the higher content of goethite, the higher magneticsusceptibility of the composites.Comprehensive analysis of the properties of different composite materials andconsider effective use of economic costs and waste, the composite materials withwheat straw: attapulgite: goethite=2:1:1is ideal.
