With more stringent requirements of green environmental protection, powdercoatings, as one of the fastest growing coatings, are widely used in constructionindustry, transportation, household appliance industry and many other industries.Generally, powder coatings are composed of resin, filler, pigment and curing agent.Among them, curing agent, which has a great effect on the appearance of the paint filmand the curing degree, is an important matter and a indispensable component ofcoatings. Without the action of curing agent, the powder coatings cannot transfer fromlinear structure of poor physical properties to3-D network, and in this case, thecorresponding paint film generated may not meet requirements on hardness, corrosionresistance, durability and other porperties or cannot even be generated. With thecontinuous development of coating industry, the curing agent will certainly developrapidly as well. The facts add together to give a great prospect of the research on novelcuring agent.This thesis briefly introduces the progress in the synthesis of amine curing agentmodifying agent, allyl glycidyl ether (AGE), and hydroxyalkyl amide curing agent,N,N,N’,N’-tetrakis (2-hydroxypropyl)-Hexanediamide (Curing agent1260). On thebasis of a large number of Chinese and English literatures for reference, we made acomparison of the advantages and disadvantages of the existing processes anddetermined the best process through a lot of experiments and analysis.In the first place, the catalyzed synthesis of allyl alycidyl ether (AGE) was exploredunder the circumstance of solid alkali KF/Al2O3by making use of the developedoptimal process conditions of the synthesis of AGE with NaOH. After the optimizationof the process conditions, the AGE yield reached93.1%and the purity of the productobtained was99.2%.The synthesis of curing agent1260conforming to the requirements of theindustrialization production standard was also explored by reaction of dimethyl adipateand diisopropanol amine, and the optimimal process condition was sought out bymeans of orthogonal experiments. And the final yield of curing agent1260was87.3%.Afterwards, we briefly analyzed the process conditions.
