In this paper, mass transfer performances of four different hole area of combined directed floating valve trays were studied in a diameter of0.75m, height of4m rectifying tower with four trays by using cyclohexane and n-heptance system. In the condition of partial reflux, atmospheric pressure and the weir height of50mm, the influences of F factor, hole area percent and reflux ratio on tray efficiency were researched. The experimental results showed that the combined directed floating valve tray with11.2%hole area was the best one; the tray efficiency of the third tray was better and also the most stable one; reflux ratio had certain effect on the tray efficiency, the efficiency had changed5%in the rage of reflux ratio.Compared with F1floating tray in similar operating conditions, combined directed floating valve tray had better performance than F1floating tray. In addition, the efficiency of the third tray at R=35was fitted into a fitting equation. Compared the fitted valve and Chen,Chuang model valve, the realiability of the fitting equation was tested. The fitting equation provided basis for the industrial design of the combined directed floating valve trays.
