In this paper, mass transfer efficiency of wave directed floating valve tray was studied in a diameter of 750mm, plate spacing of 600mm rectifying tower with 4 trays, by using cyclohexane and n-heptane system. At atmospheric pressure and total reflux, the influences of F-factor, outlet weir height, hole area percent, and other factors on tray efficiency were researched. The experimental results showed that tray efficiency slightly increased with the increase of F-factor, and increased obviously with the increase of outlet weir height. In spray regime outlet weir height had little effect on tray efficiency. Tray efficiency decreased when hole area percent increased from 8.47% to 15.68%. In normal operation, tray efficiency of wave directed floating valve tray was higher than those of Fl valve tray and sieve tray. In addition, Vapor Murphree tray efficiency of the third tray was calculated by AIChE model and three different eddy diffusion coefficient. The comparison of experimental data and calculated value showed that for the same point efficiency, different correlation should be selected to calculate Murphree tray efficiency according to the magnitude of F-factor, the deviation between experiment and calculation was less than 10%.
