In recent years, Supramolecular gel as a new type of intelligent controllable soft materialhas become a hot research in the field of materials and chemistry. With carbazole as basicstructural unit, designed and synthesized a series of novel carbazole derivative organic gelgelators (A1-A3, B1-B3, C1-C3, D1-D3, E), by means of1H NMR,13C NMR, FT-IR,elemental analysis on their structure characterization. The gel properties of the newcompounds were tested in the organic solvents of esters, amines, aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, organic acids. Microstructure of the dry gel has beenobserved by using SEM skill. Simultaneously, the responsiveness of the gel to pH and metalions has been determined. Studies have shown that most of the new gel factors have good gelproperties, characterized with many organic solvents into a gel, having a higher gel phasetransition temperature and the lower minimum gel concentration. The microstructures of thegel are not the same with different solvents and gelators. Not only part of the gel has thethermal reversibility, but the gel-sol reversible conversion can be regulated by pH. Metal ionscan destroy the stability of the gel, when adding alkali gel can form again, because of theeffect metal ions and alkaline. The influence of metal ions on the strength of new liquid fluorescent and the differenceof the fluorescence intensity in the solution state and gel state were studied. Studies haveshown that metal ions can produce changes of the solution fluorescence intensity that someare enhanced and others weakened. The fluorescence intensity is significantly different undersolution state and gel state, accordingly, the fluorescence can be tuned “strong-weak”reversibly upon the gel-sol phase transition.
