Wetland is an important ecosystem which has a unique structure and function inthe world.Wetland, which provides a unique habitat for animals and plants,pollutantsdegradation and nutrient transformation, balance of water supply, groundwaterrecharge, discharge, fixed carbon dioxide, many other ecological functions.It has animportant meaning in the global environmental change research.In order to realize thesustainable development of social economy,evaluation, ecological restoration andsustainable use has become the focus in the academic circles.Ecosystem health assessment is a comprehensive evaluation to the situation ofecosystem, which is the foundation of the wetland management. Through it we canunderstand the structure, the function of the wetland ecosystem and the reaction ofwetland ecological system under pressure which can also provide scientific basis forprotection and recovery of wetland ecosystem.With the development of RS and GISspatial information technology and application, RS and GIS in the research ofecosystem health advantages become more and more clear. RS and the GIStechnology has provided the mass dates for ecological health assessment. GIS makesthe ecological health assessment has spatial properties. With the application of RS andGIS has become a new direction in ecological health assessment and analysis.In this paper Nandagang wetland reserve and the surrounding industrial park wasselected as the research area, RS and GIS as the technology, landscape ecology,wetland ecosystem health assessment and other related discipline theory as the guide,based on vector shaped and raster point surface evaluation unit, we extracted thehydrologic and geomorphic factors, landscape types factors, vegetation factors andhuman disturbance and other elements of evaluation information from remote sensingimages. Established the wetland ecosystem health evaluation system in Nandagangwetland reserve and the surrounding industrial park, quantitative evaluation the spatialdifference of ecological health of studied area feature. The research results show that:There is a significant difference existed inecological health condition in Nandagang wetland reserve and the surroundingindustrial park.The research area ecology state of health is sub-healthycondition,Nandagang wetland reserve state of ecological health is better thansurrounding industrial park.The surrounding industrial park’s sub-healthy of the areais83%,unhealthy of the area is about13%;Nandagang wetland reserve’s sub-healthyof the area is20%,healthy of the area is about13%,unhealthy of the area is verysmall.Among the functional zones in Nandagang wetland reserve, the ecologicalhealth condition from good to bad is as follows:core zone,buffer zone,experimentalplot.The ecological health of the experimental plot need to strengthen the attentionand protection.
