Zr48Cu36Ag8Al8bulk metallic glasses and (Zr0.48Cu0.36Ag0.08Al0.08)100-xNix (x=0,2,4,6) alloys with3mm diameter were successfully prepared with suction-casting into a water-cooling-copper mold. The effect of treatment time in metallic liquid and the effect of Ni addition on the structural properties, glass-forming ability and mechanical properties of the samples were studied by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), differential scanning calorimeter(DSC), compression tests and scanning electron microscope (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).The results showed that increasing holding time of overheating treatment time would increase the density of the free volume, increased the deformation ability, and thus, decreased the local deformation degree, increased the fracture strength and plasticity of the ZrCu36Ag8Al8bulk metallic glasses.The results also showed that increasing Ni content would increase the order degree, increase the glass forming ability, increase localized phase separation, and thus, increase the fracture strain, compressive strength and fracture strength of the (Zr0.48Cu0.36Ag0.08Al0.08)100-xNix(x=0,2,4,6) alloys. The maximum breaking strength of the alloys is1788MPa, its yield strength and maximum plastic strain are respectively1649MPa and0.924%.
