Selective catalytic oxidation is a simple and important pathway of functionalizingorganic hydrocarbon molecules, and new developments in this field cover the majorareas of the modern industry, agriculture and medicine. The search and design ofhighly-effective nanocatalysts is necessary for the selective oxidation of hydrocarbon.Due to the special physical and chemical properties, silica nanomaterials have beenwidely used as catalyst support. In this paper, we use silica nanostructure as support, design and synthesize a series of nanocomposites, and explore their application in theselective oxidation of hydrocarbon. The main contents are as follows:(1) SiQDs/SiO2nanocomposites, with the size about100nm, were synthesized by afacile hydrolytic process, and the obtained material was applied for the selectiveoxidation of cis-cyclooctene in the absence of solvent using TBHP as radical initiatorand oxygen (in the air) as oxidant, and it showed good catalytic performance.(2) CQDs/SiO2porous nanocomposites were synthesized by facile hydrolyticmethod, and the as-prepared nanomaterials were characterized by SEM, TEM, HRTEM,EDX, BET, DRS, Raman and FT-IR for morphology and propertity, and thenCQDs/SiO2nanocomposites were used as catalysts for the selective oxidation ofcis-cyclooctene, we found that the CQDs/SiO2nanocomposites with small sizeexhibited excellent catalytic performance and stability under the visible light irradiation.(3) Au/CQDs/SiO2nanocomposites, Au/SiO2nanocomposites and CQDs/SiO2nanocomposites were synthesized by facile methods and characterized by SEM, TEM,HRTEM, UV-Vis, XRD, FT-IR and Raman for morphology and propertity, andAu/CQDs/SiO2nanocomposites exhibited outstanding catalytic result for the selective oxidation of cis-cyclooctene.(4) Design and synthesis of AuNPs, Au/SiO2nanospheres and Au/SiOxcompositethin film, and then characterized by SEM, TEM, HRTEM, EDX, UV-Vis and XRD formorphology and propertity, and then the as-prepared catalysts were applied for theselective oxidation of cis-cyclooctene, and the Au/SiOxcomposite thin film performedthe highest conversion and selectivity, and the SiOxthin film proved to be a goodcatalyst support.(5) Due to the electrostatic attraction of CQDs, which were negative charged, with[Ru(bipy)3]2+, the CQDs/[Ru(bipy)3]2+nanocomposites were synthesized by simplestirring, and characterized by TEM, UV-Vis and FT-IR for morphology and propertity, and the obtained nanocomposites showed good catalytic performance and stability forthe oxygen reduction reaction, in addition, it exhibited high catalytic activity forphotocatalytic hydrogen generation.
