With the development of machine tool industry towards the direction of highprecision, high speed and high efficiency, we have higher requirements for certainperformance of machine tool, such as Machining efficiency, precision, productivityand machining quality of the surface. These certain performance will be achieved ifthe machining center has good static and dynamic characteristics. It requires us havea comprehensive and accurate theoretical analysis and experimental research tomachine tool.This paper derived from National Science and Technology Major Project "Large Gantry Drilling and Boring Composite Machine tool for Marine Diesel EngineKey Components Machining". Work with a machine tool plant in shenyang,combining with the national science and technology major projects research content,we need provide a theoretical basis for improve the vibration resistance andmachining efficiency of the machining center, make it meet the requirement ofspecific processing. And for machining center and key components to conductstructural static and dynamic analysis and experimental study. Comprehensivegrasp of the static and dynamic characteristics of the machining center. The mainwork as follow:Machining center of this article analysis is a large model, and the wholemachine’s grid number more than2million, we success to realize the large model’scontact problem on the ANSYS platform. Besides, we define assembly body ofmachining center by using the contact and node coupling combined method, it provides guidance and basis for finite element analysis of large model’s assembly.We conducted static and dynamic analysis of machining center with ANSYSsoftware. Static analysis get the weak link of the key parts of the machine tool,through the strength theory calculation shows its strength meets the requirements.Modal analysis get first six modal vibration mode of the machining center. Harmonicresponse analysis get the curve of displacement along with the change of frequency.These results to understand the static and dynamic characteristics and avoidresonance of machine tool provide guidance and basis.We collect the stress and strain data of machine tools by JM3815wireless staticand dynamic stress strain test system, these data help us to learn static characteristicsof the machine tool at the same time verify the accuracy of the finite elementanalysis. We conducted modal experiment with CF-7200a fourier analyzer, and getthe modal parameters of the machining center, combining has been got modal shape,we can well understand the dynamic characteristics of the machine.
