Molecular sieve is characterized by selective absorption which is widely applied in the oilfield. There are six sets of cryogenic units for natural gas treatment in Da qing oil field whosefeedstock is processed by Molecular sieve dehydration. Thus the effectiveness of the dehydrationwould directly influence the refrigeration depth and further the light end yield of the units.Because of this selective absorbtion feature,the cryogenic units absorb water,which is fromthe feedstock, and part of light ends at the same time.This will result in the light ends reductionof the whole cryogenic units.According to the analysis of unit’s operational state and the molecular sieve components oftwo kind gases, which are feedstock gas and the resurgent gases, this paper finds out why theseunits absorbs the hydrocarbon from the feedstock, and proposes a suggestion that is how to lowerthe hydrocarbon loss absorbed by molecular sieve.
