The problem of pollution arises along with the rapid development of industry.People paid more attention to the events, which harmed human’s health and lifecausing by heavy metal pollution. In this research, the Hun river alluvial and flood fanwas taken as the investigated area, according to the second level of Quality Standardfor Ground Water (GB/T14848-93), accessed the environmental risk of heavy metals(Cr, As, Cd and Pb) in ground water by using Single factor index, Nemerow index andthe health risk assessment model. The results showed that two points of ground waterhad pollution of Cd. Two points of ground water had pollution of Pd. All the pointswere not exceeded the related standard level of Cr and As. Based on the Nemerowindex method, there’s one comprehensive pollution point. And three points reachedpicket line. All the other points are clean. The health risks assessment showed that, therisk caused by the carcinogens heavy metals was very low. We draw the pollutiondistribution geographic information map by using ArcGIS. The results of the transportsimulation of As shows that, no matter adding a pollution source or not, the range ofexceed standard area is small, and the concentration pollution is low. In order toidentify the source of contamination of groundwater, sediments in the most pollutedarea were collected and tested. Analyses of pollution status of sediment accessed themby using single factor index, comprehensive pollution index and potential ecologicalrisk index. The pollution of Cr in sediment was the most serious one, secondly is Pb.Point N21-2had the pollution of Cd. None of the point had the pollution of As. PointN21-2is the most serious polluted point. The RI of Cd is38.514, that means potentialecological risk. The other points belong to the low ecological risk. All the points werenot exceeded the ecological risk index. The proportion of acid-soluble of Cd insediment is high. The proportion of reducible of Pb in sediment is high. Cr,Cd and Pbhad high correlation. That means these heavy metals came from the same humanactivities. As had moderately correlation with the other three, so the As had thepossibility with others. Acid-soluble and oxidizable of Cr in sediment had highcorrelation with the Cr in ground water. Acid-soluble and oxidizable of Pb in sediment had high correlation with the Pb in ground water. Acid-soluble of Cd in sediment hadhigh correlation with the Cd in ground water. Oxidizable of Cd in sediment also hadquite high correlation with the Cd in ground water. So the Cr, Cd and Pb in sedimentsmay be the important reasons to the pollution of the ground water. Acid-soluble andoxidizable of As in sediments had low correlation with the As in ground water. Thatmeans As in sediments is stable, and had little possibility to pollute the ground water.
