The Study Of Garment Assembly Line Optimization Based On Lean Production Theory

As one of the largest garment production and exportation countries, China has made an outstanding contribution to foreign exchange earnings and employment。 However, in the21st century, in terms of international trade, with the development of garment production technology and function in some countries like Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and so on, global buyers have gradually transferred some orders to these low labor cost countries. What’s more, in terms of internal production, garment manufacturing industry is facing many difficulties due to the rising of raw material and labor costs, the fluctuation of exchange rate and the weakness of the demographic dividend. Therefore, local garment production factories is facing multiple pressures and need to upgrade imminently under this fierce market competition. As an important optimization theory, Lean Production can help garment production factories reduce cost, improve quality and shorten the processing time so as to enhance their market competitiveness and to achive considerable economic and social benefits.Based on the theory of Lean Production, this paper will conduct researches on garment assembly line with case study of "A" factory through site investigation. At the same time, some optimization solutions will be provided according to its actual needs.The main contents and results are as follows:a. According to theoretical studies, a research system related to the organization and optimization of garment Lean Production will be built firstly; b. After summarize the status of domestic and foreign textile and apparel industry and elaborate the implementation case of Lean Production theory in garment production factories, the feasibility analysis is proposed. Despite some objective and subjective obstacles and difficulties, the Lean Production theory can help the factory to get benefits through scientific method; c. After conductiong the field interviews and research on "A" factory, an optimization prosal is provided according the actual production of the factory in order to improve production efficiency, product quality and management metheds based on the Lean Production theory and the application of CAPP system.In summary, the study is trying to provide a different perspective in garment assembly line research and to help the garment prodction factories figure out their own problems and seize the key of production upgrading.
