With the continuous development of science and technology, higher requirements ofpolyamide materials have been raised in electronics, electrical appliances, automobiles andother fields. PA10T, as a new semi-aromatic polyamide, not only has good rigidity, heatresistance, dimensional stability, processing performance and low water absorption, but alsohas great advantage in terms of cost and environmental protection. It is fully accord with therequirement of current industry of polyamide. However, the cost of production of PA10Tsynthesized by conventional method of solid-state is so high that hinder the widespreadapplication of PA10T.In this paper, PA10T and PA10T/11was successfully synthesized by the one-step meltpolycondensation. By analyzing the changes of intrinsic viscosity, the optimumpolymerization process was determined. And the mechanical properties, thermal properties,crystallization behavior and other aspects of PA10T and PA10T/11were studied.The test results of mechanical performance of PA10T and PA10T/11indicated that tensilestrength increased about17%, elongation at break enhanced about40%, bending strengthdecreased about9%, bending modulus decreased about5%, notched impact strength increasedabout38%, and water absorption has no obvious change when the content of ADA increasedfrom0wt%to12wt%.It shows that the toughness has increased, but the water absorption wasessentially unchanged.The test results of thermal properties of PA10T and PA10T/11indicated that, when theadditions of ADA were less than9wt%, PA10T/11were able to meet the needs ofheat-resistant copolyamide materials and the process window is wider, the difficulty of theprocessing is reduced. In the non-isothermal crystallization process of PA10T/11, the non-isothermalcrystallization behavior of PA10T/11was researched by Mo method and the values ofαandF(T) were calculated. The results show that Mo method was appropriate to describe thenonisothermal crystallization process of semi-aromatic polyamide. And within a certain time,a larger degree of crystallinity can be obtained when the cooling rate increased.
