Al-Si alloy is widely used in the production of cooling fin, extrusion profilesand aluminum foil, because it has good physical properties and the advantages of lessprocess, large output and high efficiency in hot rolling. Except the above advantages,4004-Al-Si alloy also has a good performance in electrical conductivity, thermalconductance and corrosion resistance. The social demand of Al-Si alloy iscontinuously increasing and its performance requirements are changing higher andhigher. Therefore the development of Al-Si alloy have to face new challenges. Al-Sialloy is widely applied on plastic deformation machining process, in which trollingaccounts for a large proportion. Rolling has the advantages of high efficiency, lowcost and less pollution, but in the actual production, improper technological processcan lead to edge cracks, thrust belt, coarse microstructure and poor physicalproperties. Consequently, the research on technological process of alloy rolling andoptimizing process parameters are especially important. This paper establishes finite element numerical model for the process of Al-Sialloy rolling by using DEFORM-3D and conducts different process parametersimulation. The specific simulation scheme is as follows: When the press amount is15%,250℃,300℃,350℃,400℃is taken as rolled piece temperature respectivelyfor rolling process simulation; and when the (rolled piece) temperature is350℃,10%,15%,20%,25%is taken as the press amount respectively(for rolling processsimulation). Then it analyzes rolled pieces’ equivalent stress, equivalent strain anddamage regularity. The paper conducts4004-Al-Si alloy rolling experiments and then proves thesimulation correctness through crack edge distance and roll force. Then the paperanalyzes mechanical properties and microstructure of Al-Si alloy by means of tensiletest and metallographic experiment and shows the influence rule of rolled pieceabout temperature and press amount which is for optimizing process parameters. The research conducts simulation and experiment of Al-Si alloy rolling by themethod of combination of simulation and experimental. Then it verifies simulationresults and achieves the goal of optimizing process parameters and has certainguiding significance for practical production.
