High-speed milling is one of the main ways of machining hardened steel, and itpromoted hardened steel mold manufacturing greatly. Interrupted cutting, highhardness, variable curvature and multi-hardness splicing make the tool vibrateobviously in high-speed milling of hardened steel. The cutting stability affects theprocessing efficiency, machining accuracy and surface quality. So it’s necessary toanalyze cutting stability in high-speed milling of hardened steel. This article analyzed cutter’s cutting stability in the process of high-speed millingof hardened steel which base on the existing model about cutter vibration and cuttingforce. And then got the method of controlling cutting stability and optimizemanufacturing processes. This provide the basis for highly efficient and stablemachining of hardened steel mold. The main content as shown below:In order to improve the simulation accuracy of the vibration of the ball end milland evaluate cutting stability. Amend model about cutter vibration and cutting forceof cutter. Establish cutting stability criterion by considering centrifugal forcedeflection and tool error. And then got the discrimination method of resonance failure, forced vibration failure and single tooth cutting. Realized the purpose of quantitativedescription. In order to understand the vibration characteristics of high-speed milling cutter, analyze the influence factors of cutter vibration such as tool overhang, tool error, curvature of the surface, mold hardness distribution and so on. Verify the reliabilityof the cutter vibration simulation. Obtain the effects of different factors on toolvibration. Provide the basis for process optimization in high-speed milling ofhardened steel.Get further analysis of the high-speed milling of the ball-end milling of hardenedsteel cutting stability. Do the experiments of convex and concave surfaces andmulti-hardness splicing hardened steel of high-speed milling respectively. Get simulation and experimental comparative analysis of the spindle and tool. Finally getthe optimal tool path and highly efficient and stable cutting conditions. In order to guide the practice and optimize the process, make comparison andanalysis about process of high-speed milling of complex surface hardness splicing ofhardened steel. By the way of extractting test pieces characteristics and comparativeanalysis of the simulation waveform and spectrum get control method of millingstability and the principle of process optimization in high-speed milling hardenedsteel with complex surface and hardness splicing. There is significance for realizinghighly efficient and stable cutting.
