Copper is an important basis for national economic development of raw materials, cooper develops fast in China in recent years, with the increasing demand for copper consumption and the adjustment of national environmental policy. But the defects of anode electrolyzer highlights, especially the economic loss caused by the high temperature in the anode. Therefore we should take some timely detection of the temperature of anode. Combined with other parameters, we can judge the high temperature anode electrolyzer correctly, and the degree of high temperature, meantime, we can provide with the temperature-feedback information to administer the electrolysis temperature, aiming at the reduction of unscheduled stop groove, the increasing production, the elimination of accidents as well as the improvement of benefits. The rapid development of infrared detection and diagnosis technology provides a new approach to solve the detection and fault-diagnosis of copper electrolysis condition.When there were some problem in the electrolytic trough of copper electrode, it often accompanied with abnormal local or general overheating or abnormal temperature distribution and corresponded changes of Thermal infrared image. The Infrared detection gets the thermal state characteristics in the interior of the electrolytic bath through testing the infrared radiation signal on the cell surface, in order to judge the existence of fault, the properties of fault, the location of fault and the degree. The thermal infrared technology about finding out the faults in the copper electrolysis has many characteristics, such as visual images, resistance of electromagnetic interference, non contact detection, safe and reliable, accurate, high efficiency and fast detection. Copper electrolysis electrode temperature detection system, based on the thermal infrared image, realizes acquisition, processing through the infrared camera. It can realizes online time automatic temperature detection, intelligent temperature location and fault alarm. It makes remote temperature monitoring of copper electrolyzer possible, which saves a lot of manpower and material resources, realizes the change of copper electrolysis from the traditional planned detection to predictive maintenance.This paper first gives a general introduction to the background and significance of the infrared diagnosis technology in the electrolytic trough of copper in high temperature detection, and the narration of the infrared diagnosis technology in the present state of development at home and abroad. From this basis, it makes an overview detection principle of the application of infrared technology and the basic principle of infrared radiation, an illustration of the knowledge of the application of the infrared thermal imager which includes the basic principle of infrared thermal imager, performance, characteristics, the range of detection and fault diagnosis method on the copper electrolysis process and so on. What is more, it makes a briefly introduction of the operation and treatment of the infrared image. Aiming at the problems that we should realize the alarm detection and location of copper electrolysis temperature fault point from the infrared thermal image shouted by infrared thermal imager, needed to be solved, we take the appropriate treatment on the infrared thermal image, mainly consists of three steps:Geometric Calibration of Infrared Camera, we can get the internal and external parameters of the infrared camera in order to recover the image distortion; Calibration of Infrared Camera Temperature, we can get the gray value and the temperature of thermal infrared image correspondence; Thermal Infrared Image Processing, we can take filtering, edge detection, threshold segmentation, two values, a series of image processing operations on the recovered thermal infrared images, so as to realize the detection and localization of high temperature on those electrode and to get the temperature value; We take the implement of above operation and algorithm, combined with the OpenCV function library in the VS2008environment, and the design of the man-machine interface. We realized the automatic real-time processing of thermal infrared images through the software, which will improve the processing speed greatly, increase the actual work efficiency, and have a better use-value in the practical application.
