| Vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) is a kind of basic chemical raw materials and has a broad application field. Recently VCM mainly used for the synthesis of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). PVC is one of the world’s five major engineering plastics who has a very wide range of applications in fields of agriculture, industry, construction, fiber optic, electronic appliances, daily necessities, etc.Currently in the world there are three main methods contribute to produce vinyl chloride, they are ethylene, acetylene and ethane. To produce VCM, developed country mainly used ethylene oil route. But consider our country energy structure, about75%vinyl chloride production still using acetylene and hydrogen chloride as raw material in China. However, this process route has been using a highly toxic mercuric chloride activated carbon as the catalyst, the catalyst is volatile loss, causing serious harm to the health of workers and the local environment.This essay mainly studies the method of using acetylene to produce vinyl chloride, specifically including the following content: choose mercury-free catalyst, establish the process flow of the catalytic reaction and complete the research on catalyst properties; Based on the research of the response characteristics to explore the optimum process conditions of the reaction; Then use MATLAB software to imitate the reaction result in order to provide effective basis for industrialized production. |
