Metal Rubber is an elastic porous material made of stainless steel wire through a particular production process of the formation, which originated in the1960s in the former Soviet Union, because of its resistance to high pressure, high temperature resistance, excellent corrosion properties, it is widely used in aerospace, defense weaponry, bombs Starfleet ship petrochemical, automotive industries, and many other fields.The quality of the spiral roll is one of the key technology in the process of forming metal rubber, the pros and cons related to the quality of its rubber-metal components. Spiral roll which has be wound should be uniform in diameter, as consistent as possible.The diameter of the stretched spiral roll is approximately equal to screw pitch. This makes the state of engagement between each wire is preferably, thus ensuring the stability of the metal rubber components.First, This paper studied on the metal rubber spiral coil molding process, using the theory of spiral coil rebound, parameters in the process of forming process is analyzed, by changing the tension and the pressure between the wheel and spindle can control the size of the springback amount, and the linear strengthening elastic-plastic bending theory according to a thread of silk, it is concluded that theoretical calculation formula of the diameter of the spindle.Second, on the basis of research on spiral roll molding process, the overall design of the metal rubber spiral roll forming machine and spiral roll drawing machine is done, this machine mainly includes the forming mechanism and cutting mechanism to ensure the different metal rubber components to meet the needs of different length of spiral coil. In the process of the design of the spiral roll drawing machine, the principle of differential speed stretch is used, in the process of the stretching, the fundamental problem is the relationship between the speed difference and the plastic deformation to achieve the goal of spiral volume diameter approximately equal to the pitch.At last, in the building of test bench for the spiral roll winding and tensile experiments, in the winding experiments, because of the core shaft is fine it is difficult to guarantee the parallel degree between pressure wheel and spindle, so the pressure between the pressure wheel and spindle is very difficult to control, to ensure the pressure in the process of spiral roll forming, with a small clamp wire to the spindle, the spiral coil is successful to wind, and gives a detailed analysis of the spiral roll.
