TiB as a new type of ceramic particles,with good stiffness,high hardness,good wearresistance and chemical stability.Prepared by powder metallurgy with TiB particlesreinforced aluminum matrix composite phase,using Archimedes’ principle, XRD, SEM,EDS and other testing methods,studied the sintering temperature,pressing pressure,TiBparticle size and content on the influence of the organization and performance.Researchshows that the reinforcing phase TiB particles did not decomposition, have goodcombination with aluminum substrate,show that the composite material has excellentorganization and performance.As the sintering temperature,pressing pressure increases,reduces the porosity ofTiB/Al composites,improve the relative density and hardness of the sample.Under theexperimental conditions,the pressing pressure of382MPa,the sintering temperature of600℃,the particle size of28μm,TiB particle content of5wt%,the composite material havethe highest relative density and hardness.By adding appropriate amount of TiB particles,the smaller particle size,the lower theporosity of composites,also have the higher relative density and hardness.Larger particleand more content increase the remaining pore in composite materials.Reduce the relativedensity and hardness of the composite materials,can also affect the uniform distribution ofparticles.Increase in TiB composite particle content,can significantly reduce the frictioncoefficient and the amount of wear,abrasion resistance is improved.With the increase ofparticle content,the wear mechanism of TiB/Al composites transform surface adhesion wearinto abrasive wear;With the increase of external load,welding on cut surface deepeninginner surface,increasing the amount of wear. Under low load the wear mechanism ismainly adhesive wear mechanism, under high load is mainly abrasive wear mechanism....
