During the past ten years, microflow chemistry and microchannel reactor haveattracted much attention and gained rapid development in synthetic organic chemistryand chemical process development. In order to learn new technology, apply newtechnology to chemical process development, and develop more safe, efficient andenvironmentally benign synthesis, we have studies the application of microflowchemistry in the continuous synthesis of aryl boric acid pinacol ester.By using microchannel reactor, we have developed a method for the synthesis ofaryl boric acid pinacol ester starting from substituted aromatic amine, acetonitrile,tert-butyl nitrite, and Bis(pinacolato)diboron. In detail, it is a continuous flowtechnology process which is finished in microchannel reactor via preheating, mixing thanreacting from the three raw material: substituted aromatic amine, tert-butyl nitrite andBis(pinacolato)diboron. In addition, the mixed microchannel reactor is composed of avariety of miniature mixed flow structure units. In summary, we have developed a method for the continuous and stable synthesisof aryl boric acid ester at80℃starting from the three raw material: substitutedaromatic amine, tert-butyl nitrite and Bis(pinacolato)diboron via the microchannelreactor which have the function of enhanced mass transfer unit structure. Comparedwith the traditional batch reaction, we improve the controllability of mass transfer, heat transfer rate, reaction rate and reaction temperature, and greatly increase thesafety of experiment process.
