Recently, the oil and gas of non-renewable resources were to be the cornerstone of the Chemical industry and its industry now. But the enormous pressure from its irrefragable will block the progress of the society. In these years, it is generally accepted that the renewable biomass resources is the kind of industrial material which the value is the one of the unlimited potential. So it proposes the industry policy which is widely used in biological environment and chemical industry-Biomass Industry. Making rational use of the renewable resources which is the one important aspect of the future of polymer materials.A series of furan-aromatic polyesters were successfully synthesized via direct esterification method starting from2,5-furandicarboxylic acid, terephthalate acid, ethylene glycol,1,3-propanediol,1,4-butanediol,1,6-hexanediol, and1,8-octanediol to poly (ethylene terephthalate-co-ethylene2,5-furandicarboxylate)(PEFT), poly (1,3-propanediol terephthalate-co-1,3-propanediol2,5-furandicarboxylate)(PTFT), poly (1,4-butanediol terephthlate-co-1,4-butanediol terephthalate2,5-furandicarboxylate)(PBFT), poly (1,6-hexanediol terephthalate-co-1,6-hexanediol2,5-furandicarboxylate)(PHFT), poly (1,8-octanediol terephthalate-co-1,8-octanediol2,5-furandicarboxylate)(POFT) and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-NMR).The properties of the copolyesters were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), tensile tests, vicat softening point temperature and rockwell hardness and so on. The copolyesters were thermally stable up to360℃with only a few decomposition, PEFT got the best stability, followed by PTFT, the last is PBFT, PHFT, POFT.
