Single-phase Yb:YAG glass-ceramics with large grain size and high transparency was prepared in Pb0-Y203-Al2O3-SiO2glass system.The formation of YAG crystal phase,micro-structure and spectral properties with progress of heat-treatment was examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD),optical microscope and fluorescent spectroscope.The result show that high refractive index of PbO-SiO2glass can effectively reduce the refractive index difference with YAG crystal.PbO can significantly reduce the glass melting point, Ba(NO3)2clarifier can reduce the glass viscosity and reduce the stoma of glass-ceramics.The best heat-treatment was at1050℃for2h to get single-phase YAG.The average grain size of YAG was40μm.The Yb3+are preferentially enter into YAG crystal phase and the measured spectra have exhibited emission transitions of2F5/2â†'2F7/2from Yb3+ions.
