Polyurethane hydrogel, which combines the advantages of hydrogel and polyurethane, has good biocompatibility and excellent mechanical properties. As a new non-toxic antibacterial agent, nano-silver has long-term and broad-spectrum antibacterial performance and does not make the bacteria drug-fast. In this paper, nano-silver, through the in-situ reduction method, was added into polyurethane hydrogel system and hence a new type of nano-silver polyurethane hydrogel was prepared.In this paper, a kind of water-based polyurethane emulsion with high molecular weight and unsaturated double bond was firstly prepared with HDI, IPDI, polyether polyol, polyethylene glycol and other materials. Then a new kind of IPN polyurethane hydrogel was prepared through free radical polymerization of the swollen acrylamide monomers in the polyurethane emulsion. In order to obtain the best properties of IPN polyurethane hydrogel, the effect of the structure of hard segment and soft segment, the ratio of NCO to OH, the dosage of DMPA and TMP were also studied.In order to add it into polyurethane hydrogel system, nano-silver was prepared through ultrasonic dispersion with PVP which is one of its good protective agents, glucose which is a good reducing agent with good biocompatibility as well as NaOH, the catalyst. In addition, the influence on nano-silver of the concentration of silver nitrate, the dosage of PVP, glucose and NaOH was studied in a systematic manner. In this paper, nano-silver was also prepared with acrylamide, potassium persulfate, glucose and other materials through the method of liquid phase reduction. This is a new method that has unique advantages because of the accessible raw materials, the simple experimental conditions and the product’s good performance.On the basis of the above research, three preparation methods of nano-silver polyurethane hydrogel were designed and the feasibility and characterizations of different methods were compared comprehensively in this paper. At last the preparation process of nano-silver polyurethane hydrogel was studied preliminarily.
