Water hardness in northern region is generally high, most parts is greater than 12, a few reach the hardness of 25. Hard water contains a lot of calcium and magnesium components which can precipitate in a proper condition. This is what we usually refer to as the scaling. In terms of industrial production, the scale can cause great harm, for example, lowering the heat transfer of equipment, causing tremendous waste of energy derivatives, and blocking pipes and so on. Therefore it is major significant for industrial production to reduce the hardness of water.Soybean hull, a by-product of soybean production factory, is regarded as waste. It makes the pollution of the environment. Then consider whether it can be modified to reduce water hardness .This experiment studies on modified method of soybean hull and the water treatment process. Do a lot of jobs on the modified method for the choice of modifier and regeneration and, in turn, determine the optimal dose of the modifier, regenerated agent and the best reaction time. Do a mathematical simulation of the dynamic experimental data. Research shows that sulfonated soybean skin can absorpt calcium and magnesium in water well, can achieve the purpose of reducing water hardness and can be regenerated many times.
