In recent years, with the development of productivity and continuousimprovement of quality of life, water-based polyurethane with water as the mainsolvent, a non-polluting, non-toxic, good film, good film flexibility, adhesion, etc.,coinciding with the people with low VOC paint emissions to meet the requirements towater-based polyurethane coating has been developed rapidly in recent decades. Butwater-based polyurethane coating itself flammable, and poor water resistance anddevelopment of its application is limited. Therefore, R&D has good flame resistanceand water resistance of the new water-based polyurethane coating is important andhuge market potential.The subject of synthetic water-based polyurethane coating materials used for thepoly (propylene carbonate) diols are aliphatic polyester polycarbonate series, with thecommon water-based polyurethane, and into its own high-carbon, PC in its ownoxygen index LOI24-26%, and help to reduce the flammability of polyurethane itself.Experiments with poly (propylene carbonate) diol (PPC),2,4-diisocyanate(TDI), dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA),1,4-butanediol (BDO), triethylamine asthe main synthesized from water-based polyurethane, and KH-550were used forwater-based polyurethane modified epoxy resin processed by the KH-550has beenmodified polyurethane and epoxy paint, and add the ammonium polyphosphate,melamine, pentaerythritol composed of three intumescent flame retardant system, asystem of water-based polyurethane flame retardant coatings, the coating waterresistance and flame-retardant effect of physical and chemical properties such asexcellent.By studying the synthesis of water-based polyurethane emulsion of variousparameters on the performance and flame retardant properties, water-basedpolyurethane flame-retardant coating to get the best synthesis process is as follows: Rvalue of1.2, DMPA, and the amount of modified epoxy resin are3%, prepolymertime and temperature were180min,70℃, chain extension of time and temperaturewere120min,80℃, synthetic water-based polyurethane flame retardant coatingsamount of80%, flame-retardant system (ammonium polyphosphate, melamine, pentaerythritol) ratio of the three30:25:15.Using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermal gravimetric analysisof the modified water-resistant and water-based polyurethane flame retardant systemcarbonized mass loss, and found that epoxy resin and polyurethane chemical bondbetween the cross-linking, water-based polyurethane flame-retardant system in paintThe coating significantly improved water resistance; and do not add water-basedintumescent flame retardant than polyurethane, water-based polyurethaneflame-retardant coating carbonized mass loss from91%to75%, refractory time from125s to578s, instructions from Water-based polyurethane flame retardant coatingshas been improved significantly.Experiments to simulate a large plate burning, self-designed testing devicemeasured flame retardant effect can be obtained from the measured results, with noadded water-based intumescent flame-retardant polyurethane coating systemcompared to water-based polyurethane flame retardant coatings can greatly enhancethe resistance burning effect.
