With the rapid development of Chinese hydraulic industry, some of thebottleneck of industrial development come out. Such as most of domestic hydrauliccomponents are low level ones and overcapacity, prompted the manufacturers haveto take measures to reduce the priceto adapt to the competitive market, at the sametime domestic manufacturers can not produce high level components, and users haveto buy expensive import ones, restrained by others. So the direction of domestichydraulic components development would be high-grade and high-tech hydrauliccomponents. As one of the most commonly used hydraulic components, hydrauliccylinder also face the problems that manufacturing level is low and heavily dependon imports. General engineering hydraulic cylinder can no longer meet theapplication requirements in many areas which need to use sepcial structure andfunction hydraulic cylinders.With the rapid development of the hrdraulic industry, electro-hydraulic servovalve controlled electro-hydraulic servo systems are widely used in the aerospace,aviation, navigtion, weapons, mining, metallurgy and civil etc. But with theincreased performance requirements of complex motion control system in recentyears, the limitations of the hydraulic control system is displayed. Such aselectro-hydraulic servo valves and cylinders dynamics and nonlinear problems arethe main factors to affect the electro-hydraulic servo valve controlledelectro-hydraulic servo systems performance. So how to improve the systemadaptability and robustness is a hydraulic servo system research focus.To solve the above problems, this paper designed a special structure of thehydraulic cylinder, single-rod symmetric cylinder, and it has both single-rodasymmetric cylinder’s advantage of small size and double-rod symmetric cylinder’sadvantage of symmetric dynamic characteristic, and it is particularly suitable for theflight simulator, platform etc. This paper designed a symmetric valve controlledsingle-rod symmetric cylinder electro-hydraulic servo system and a symmetricvalve controlled single-rod asymmetric cylinder electro-hydraulic servo system. Byanalyzing the theory on the static characteristics of the two systems, simulating andexperimental researching the dynamic characteristics of the two systems, this paperverified single-rod symmetric cylinder’s advantages which are large carryingcapacity and symmetric dynamic characteristic.
