In recent years, with the development and the wide application of massspectrometry technology, mass spectrometer has become one of scientificinstruments which has the best prospect, and also quadrupole mass spectrometer hasmost widely used. In this paper, according to requirements of the subject, developeda modular mass spectrum signal acquisition system, which is used to acquire themass spectrum signal of the quadrupole mass spectrometer and communicate withthe upper machine through a USB interface and a network interface, so as to realizethe mass spectrometry signal acquisition, storage and processing.Based on the requirements of designing a modular mass spectrum signalacquisition system, the whole system is divided into five modules to realize, namely:the signal disposal module, the data acquisition module, the core control module, thecommunication module and the PC software module. The signal disposal moduleimplements to amplify and filter the mass spectrum signal. These processes makethe signal satisfy A/D converter’s requirements, so as to enhance the reliability andaccuracy of the signal acquisition; According to the requirements of the uppercomputer, the data acquisition module realizes the acquisition of mass spectrumsignal in different sampling rates; Core control module controls the wholeacquisition circuit board to operate in order. According to the different directivesrealize different responses; Communication module is used to realize thecommunication between acquisition circuit board and the upper machine: Transmitthe upper machine’s control instructions by a serial port. Transmit the acquired datato the upper machine by a USB interface or a network interface; PC softwaremodule is used to control the whole system.This object had realized the whole system’s function by ways of designinghardware and software. Based on each module’s specific function and technicalrequirements, choose the right components and structure system circuit in the rightway to design hardware circuit. Software programming is about to program DSP andCPLD. The purpose of programming is to control every component to realize theirfunctions. Finally, commissions all the modules. Through the analysis of thedebugging results, the modules are able to satisfy the requirements of the acquisitionsystem.
